LASER THERAPY Q & A
By: Gleason Center Editors, Dr. Daniel Gleason DC
Laser therapy is a powerful tool our doctors use everyday to help heal chronic pain and inflammation. In this post, we'll answer some of your most frequently asked questions about laser therapy and its benefits.
Q. What is laser therapy?
A. Laser therapy is a non invasive, painless therapy that kick starts your body's own healing process. Photons of laser energy penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. As a result of exposure to the MLS Laser, cells of tendons, ligaments, and muscles repair themselves faster. As inflammation is reduced, pain subsides very quickly.
Q. How does laser therapy help my body heal?
A. Cells injured by disease or trauma become dormant, no longer able to heal themselves. Laser light recharges your cell’s “batteries”, much like what the sun does to plants. Thus they start healing, reducing inflammation and pain. Watch here.
Q. Will I feel anything during treatment?
A. Our laser does not create heat or vibration. Most patients do not feel anything
during treatment. Occasionally they report a very mild pulsing or tingling.
Q. What should I expect after I receive treatment?
A. Most patients experience pain relief, improved strength and better joint
Q. What are additional benefits of laser treatment at TGC?
A. Increased protein production, healthy cell growth, faster wound healing, better circulation, and improved immune function.
Q. How many laser treatments are required?
A. While many patients experience immediate relief with one or two visits, others may require several treatments to see significant results. Initially we suggest trying six treatments.
Q. What does laser therapy cost?
A. We offer the following treatment packages for MLS Laser Therapy. Treatment visits may be used interchangeably for Laser or PEMF Therapy: Single Treatment $55, 6 Treatments $265, 10 Treatments $400.
Q. How long do the results last?
A. Clinical studies, show that positive results can be immediate and permanent. This depends on what the underlying causes were and if the patient continues to create further trauma by their lifestyle choices.

I loved how you said that it can help your muscles repair faster and reduce pain. My sister has been dealing with plantar fasciitis for the past couple of months, and she talked about how she wants to find a way to treat it properly. I'll pass this information along to her so she can look into seeing a podiatrist about MLS laser therapy.
